Altermode brings together asylum-seeking women from Parc-Extension that have years of sewing, tailoring, and textile experience.
Through regular repair and alteration events, community members are invited to bring clothes they love that need some TLC. These pieces are patched, hemmed, mended and up-cycled to help Montrealers waste less and share more. By extending the life of clothing and centering care, skill-sharing, and social connection, Altermode contributes to sustainable fashion practices while fostering integration, economic participation, and stronger community ties within Parc-Extension and beyond.

Alter-Mode is open to anyone who wants be part of a more human approach to fashion. Whether you’re looking to repair a favourite piece, refresh something you no longer wear, or simply support the skills of the aunties of Parc-Extension, our monthly events are a place to start.
